Boater Safety Class
A boater safety class is being offered Feb. 9 in Keizer for anyone who is in need of an Oregon boater safety card.
The course and test sponsored by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon State Marine Board are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Keizer Fire Station, 661 Chemawa Road NE.
Registration is required as the class size is limited.
Cost: $5 payable at the beginning of the class.
The free textbook needs to be picked up before the class at the Keizer Fire District business office at the same site as the fire station.
Copies also are available at the Oregon State Marine Board office, 435 Commercial St. on the west side of commercial between the Marion and Center street bridges.
For more information or to register, call Doug White at (503) 463-4956.
Oregon law requires that anyone 12 and older must have an Oregon Boaters Card when driving a power boat with a motor larger than 10 hp.
Participants who successfully complete the class receive a certificate that qualifies them for their card, which is issued by the Marine Board.
